We’re here to challenge ageism and discrimination and tackle the inequalities that exist in older age. We will focus our resources on the critical areas of health and care, loneliness and poverty and concentrate our efforts where we will have the greatest impact and reach.
Whatever happens as we get older, we all want to remain independent and live life on our own terms. That’s why, as well as offering regular friendly contact and a strong campaigning voice, Independent Age can provide you and your family with clear, free and impartial advice on the issues that matter: care and support, money and benefits, health and mobility, bereavement and more….
With older people at the heart of everything we do, we want to share with you, our friends and supporters, our campaign work as we strive to make the United Kingdom a better place in which to grow old.
Please also see our 9-page bulletin above for all our current news and how we can help you.
Cheshire East Carers’ Hub provides a single point of access for all Carers including both young and adult Carers. The Hub exists to ensure that Carers of all ages have access to information, advice and a wide range of support services. These support services are designed to help Carers continue in their caring role for as long as they choose and to reduce the impact the caring role can have on a Carers own health and wellbeing.
Please see quotes from those who have used the Carers Hub and the help it has given them.
Support can include:
Anyone who thinks they are a carer can register with the Carers Hub by calling 0300 303 0208, emailing enquiries@cheshireeastcarershub.co.uk or by visiting cheshireeastcarershub.co.uk.
We can support young and adult Carers who either live in Cheshire East, care for a Cheshire East resident or are registered with a GP in East or South Cheshire. Our Young Carers Practitioners are Cara and Cathryn.
Coffee and Chats : Hopefully these will resume soon when Covid-19 restrictions allow.
Meet and chat with other Carers, speak to a Carers Support Worker and take a well-earned break from your caring role whilst enjoying a coffee. If you have never been to a Coffee and Chat before don’t worry! Everyone has been a “first timer”. A friendly Carers Support Worker will be there to greet you and offer you a warm introduction.
