Cheshire East Carers Hub Newsletter Spring 2021
Please also see our 17-page Spring bulletin above for all our current news and how we can help you.
Cheshire East Carers’ Hub provides a single point of access for all Carers including both young and adult Carers. The Hub exists to ensure that Carers of all ages have access to information, advice and a wide range of support services. These support services are designed to help Carers continue in their caring role for as long as they choose and to reduce the impact the caring role can have on a Carers own health and wellbeing.
Please see quotes from those who have used the Carers Hub and the help it has given them.
Support can include:
Anyone who thinks they are a carer can register with the Carers Hub by calling 0300 303 0208, emailing enquiries@cheshireeastcarershub.co.uk or by visiting cheshireeastcarershub.co.uk.
We can support young and adult Carers who either live in Cheshire East, care for a Cheshire East resident or are registered with a GP in East or South Cheshire. Our Young Carers Practitioners are Cara and Cathryn.
Coffee and Chats : Hopefully these will resume soon when Covid-19 restrictions allow.
Meet and chat with other Carers, speak to a Carers Support Worker and take a well-earned break from your caring role whilst enjoying a coffee. If you have never been to a Coffee and Chat before don’t worry! Everyone has been a “first timer”. A friendly Carers Support Worker will be there to greet you and offer you a warm introduction.
We provide information, advice and support to unpaid carers.
A carer is someone of any age who provides unpaid support to family or friends who could not manage without this help. This could be caring for a relative, partner or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or substance misuse problems.
may even be juggling paid work with their unpaid caring responsibilities at home. The term carer should not be confused with a care worker, or care assistant, who receives payment for looking after someone.
Carers have different needs and Cheshire & Warrington Carers Trust can assist you in information regarding health issues, entitlements, mobility, grants for holidays, equipment and support. We also offer a wide range of activities, training and events for Carers throughout the year across Cheshire.
