Infection Prevention Awareness for Nantwich and Rural

FREE TRAINING

The training is to support volunteers to help you run your groups and venues safely and give those attending confidence that it is a safe place to be.

Who can attend?

The training is open to all volunteers and community leaders across the Voluntary, Community and faith sector who are moving forwards from delivering digitally to face to face and want to embed confidence in their recovery responsibly.

What the offer includes:

  • Background to Infection Control- who we are and why it is important
  • An overview of hand hygiene including why, how and with what
  • Use of personal protective equipment including how to don and doff safely.
  • General cleaning awareness
  • General overview of waste
  • Winter illnesses – flu, norovirus, what to watch out for, exclusions etc.
  • Brief Sepsis awareness
  • Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)
  • Utilising buildings safely – social distancing etc.

Who is delivering the training?

Sam Weston (Infection Prevention and Control Nurse) and Emily Kindred (Health Protection Officer) will be running the sessions. For the face to face sessions we are looking at a maximum of 20 people and for the online sessions, a maximum of 30. The sessions will last an hour and a half and will run from 6 – 7.30pm (if possible)
