IRIS is a local charity established by local visually impaired people dedicated to achieve Independence and Rehabilitation for those with Impaired Sight. Sight loss can be challenging, and people will deal with it in many different ways. Our approach at IRIS is to understand this, to reflect this in our person-centred approach, and to work with you so that you can face the future with some confidence.

Stargardt’s disease is an inherited disorder of the retina — the tissue at the back of the eye that senses light. The disease typically causes vision loss during childhood or adolescence, although in some forms, vision loss may not be noticed until later in adulthood.
