The Wingate Special Children’s Trust is an independent charity devoted to enriching the lives of children and young people with all levels of physical and learning disability or who are disadvantaged.
The centre is currently closed for indoor sports and groups. Thank you to all our supporters who have continued to support The Wingate Centre through this difficult time. We really appreciate your ongoing support.
Established in 1988 by parents of children with a range of disabilities who had learned to appreciate the benefits of gymnastics for their children, the Trust has since evolved into a national centre attracting visitors from special and mainstream schools, voluntary organisations and support groups both locally and nationally.
Our site comprises a 23-bedroom specialised accommodation facility and a 7,000 square foot, fully-fitted gymnasium. This combination of facilities is unique and complementary as gymnastics is particularly helpful to people with disabilities as it helps develop core physical, cognitive and emotional skills and develops self-esteem through achievement, encouragement and recognition.

We have been providing support to local residents who may need help, are self-isolating or live alone and whose family, friends or neighbours are unable to help. For those people needing support it is important that you get it from people you know or trust.
During the last 8 months of the Covid-19 outbreak our volunteers have been helping to cover the areas of Wrenbury and its surrounding parishes.
Our volunteers are all registered and checked and medical transport drivers DBS checked. We are working closely with Cheshire East Council and Cheshire Voluntary Services.
