Stargardt’s disease is an inherited disorder of the retina — the tissue at the back of the eye that senses light. The disease typically causes vision loss during childhood or adolescence, although in some forms, vision loss may not be noticed until later in adulthood.
Stargardt’s Connected is a support community for those seeking more information and sharing experiences :
Stargardt’s Connected held their Children and Young People’s Zoom Session on Saturday 20th March 11-12pm. This was for any Child or Young Person aged 8-17 with Stargardt’s. This was a fantastic opportunity for children and young people with Stargardt’s to get together informally and have fun and share experiences.
(There will be future such get togethers so we’ll leave this here on the website for future reference and when we get future dates we will post them here.)
IRIS is a local charity established by local visually impaired people dedicated to achieve Independence and Rehabilitation for those with Impaired Sight. Sight loss can be challenging, and people will deal with it in many different ways. Our approach at IRIS is to understand this, to reflect this in our person-centred approach, and to work with you so that you can face the future with some confidence.
