Information for all our carers in Nantwich and Rural
January 26, 2023Introducing the new Cheshire East Carers and Young Carers Hub with Making Space.
The new All Age Cheshire East Carers Hub, commissioned by Cheshire East Council in partnership with the NHS, went live on 1st January 2023 and will provide high-quality and person-centred support services for Carers living in Cheshire East.
The Hub model was first introduced in 2018, as a way to coordinate and improve access to local carer support, build on existing services and offer new opportunities co-designed by both adult, parent and young carers. This model will be continuing, with the opportunity to develop it further alongside carers, to ensure that the offer available best supports carers health and wellbeing.
Following a competitive process, the new carers hub contract was awarded to Making Space, an organisation with experience of providing high quality and innovative provision for people in Cheshire East. Making Space will be working in partnership with other local organisations to ensure adult, parent and young carers receive the right information and support, which is tailored to their individual needs.
The new Cheshire East Carers and Young Carers Hub will continue to give carers a single point of access, meaning that carers need only tell their story once and the Hub team will get to work to provide them with the information, advice, support and guidance that they need. In some cases, carers will be referred to local support in their community to help them on their caring journey.
Carers can choose to register with the Hub directly to access the support they need, or they can be referred to the Hub by a friend or family member, a professional or another organisation. In-order for carers to receive the full benefit of the Hub and its services they need to be registered, which they can do by simply contacting the Hub in one of the following ways:
Tel: 0300 303 0208
Email: enquiries@cheshireeastcarershub.co.uk

They can also provide remote support via telephone and/or video call if you are unable to access a venue and can conduct home visits for carers who cannot engage in any other way. The Carers Hub are keen to attend as many team meetings as possible to introduce the new service to you. If you would like them to attend one of your team meetings, please contact them.
