After nearly two years our Monday morning activity group is finally back!!

Below is the new activity calendar from October to December 2021.

Monday 4th October: A cuppa and a catch-up. After so long apart, let’s chat over a cup of tea and a biscuit and find out what we’ve all been up to over the last 20 months!

Monday 11th October: Songlink. A music related game where each team must guess a song and link another song title to it! Not that we’re a competitive bunch (haha!) but there will be scores recorded and an edible prize for the winning team!

Monday 18th October: Get Yourself Active. We’ll be joined by our friend Andy Molyneux from Everybody Sports and Recreation, for fun and games! It could be anything from golf to basketball to flapping a giant parachute or even archery! Yes archery!!!

Monday 25th October: Hannah Teaches Tech. You may remember a talk by Rob Pickersgill on the IRIS Podcast, offering assistance to help set our visually impaired members up in business? Well our very own Hannah Fairclough took him up on that offer and is now helping people to use their Apple devices. Hannah will tell us what she’s been up to and how she can enrich our lives by helping us to access new technology!

Monday 1st November: Domino Bingo! Using raised surface dominoes to feel the numbers we play fast and furious to win biscuits and snacks!

Monday 8th November: Hot Dogs and Fireworks. Recreating bonfire night with the sounds and smells, we’ll listen to the crackling bonfire and fireworks whilst eating hotdogs and maybe even some toasted marshmallows! Bring your hat and scarf too I believe it’s going to be windy with a hint of rain!

Monday 15th November: Get Yourself Active. We’ll be joined again by our friend Andy Molyneux from Everybody Sports and Recreation, for more games to get you moving whilst having fun! (And usually laughing a lot too!)

Monday 22nd November: Happy Birthday Carol! Join us for a delicious Morrison’s buffet to celebrate our Carol’s 70th birthday! Guaranteed to be lots of Beatles music and something lemony for dessert to honour Carol’s special day! (23rd!)

Monday 29th November: Sue’s Music! Joined by our lovely friend Sue Walker, she’ll play her instruments along to her husband Tim’s backing tracks as we sing along to all our old favourites and maybe some newer songs too!

Monday December 6th: Your Family Ancestry. Our very own Gwyn Griffiths will be helping us to delve into our ancestry in the first of a two part talk. He’ll explain how it all works and take some of our family details returning in the new year to divulge any secrets about our long lost relatives!!

Monday 13th December: Christmas lunch out at the pub! October discussions and negotiations are already afoot to decide the venue and menu for this years Christmas lunch!

Monday 20th December: Make And Bake!! Yay!! Woohoo! The return of one of your favourite activities! And what better bake for December than mince pies! I’m fancying a shallow open tart style with a pastry star on top! What do you think?
