Wrenbury Primary School wins award for project linking up with local NHS and Care Home
November 29, 2020The Education Business Awards were announced on Thursday 26th November.
The Community Award recognises schools working in partnership with other public sector bodies (local authority, police, NHS or Fire Service) on projects that bring specific benefits to the local community.
CONGRATULATIONS TO WRENBURY PRIMARY SCHOOL for winning the Community Award!!
Becky Barber, Practice Manager at Wrenbury Medical Centre describes the project:
“So back in the good old days of 2019 we did a joint project with Wrenbury Nursing Home, Wrenbury Primary School and ourselves about Immunisation Programmes (seems rather poignant now!)
The children came to our practice – we have done this for a couple of years, sadly we could not do it this year due to COVID, last year they came to us and we talked to them about Immunisation Programmes, what they are, why we have them, etc., the Nursing Home residents sent us some “memories” they could recall about immunisation programmes and the impact on their lives they had, Noreen Caldwell from the Clinical Commissioning Group supported us to make a short video (as shown below). The school and the practice gained a Self Care Award for this.
I still have the memories that the residents shared and sent to the school – they are lovely. The Project got entered on behalf of the school into the national Business Education Awards and yesterday they won the Community Award!”
